  No hay nada más engañoso que pensar que vemos la realidad, lo que creemos “real” es la interpretación que nuestro cerebro hace de unas imágenes sumamente imperfectas recibidas en la retina y transmitidas como señales eléctricas a los centros del cerebro asociados con el sentido de la vista.

   Por ello y como neurobiólogo, me gusta pintar con trazos rotundos y evidentes y con colores intensos y luego dejar que cada uno los interprete como quiera y que compongan una obra subjetiva, diferente en cada uno de nosotros. 

  Más allá de esto, mi obra artística mezcla ciencia y estética y para mi es una herramienta poderosa y creativa para la divulgación del conocimiento de cuanto nos rodea.

 

 

  What is real in the images captured by our eyes?. What we see is a brain interpretation of the imperfect bidimensional images reaching the retina and transmitted as electric signals to the areas of our brain associated with visual processing.

  Therefore, as a professional neuroscientist I love that my paintings transmitting intense colors and forms impact the viewer senses creating subjective interpretations of my creations.

  Furthermore, my art melts science and aesthetics and to me is a powerful and creative way to transmit the knowledge of our natural environment.
